Breaking Blog Rules Already

February 3rd, 2012

I know that this goes against everything I ever learned about running a successful business and blogging, but my heart needs to share. I have been given so many creative gifts and I want to be sure that the source receives all of the glory. I want to publicly recognize my love and adoration of a loving God–the one true God–and to give him all glory pertaining to my talents, my success, and everything else that I have left at the end of the day. I started this business because of Him and have grown quite a bit in the last year because of His faithfulness. I received a promise from God, last summer, pertaining to my business and I will be coming upon a particular time frame within the next few months. I have seen many things that I was promised, along with this business promise, answered already. (None of which can be considered less than miraculous.)

I am so humbled by His grace each day and am so thankful that he has blessed me with something that I have so much passion for. One day my photography, videography, graphic design, and heart for missions will combine into something completely orchestrated by Him, for His glory, and I will GET to be apart of something that I could never have imagined! This may be a journey of humble beginnings and small successes, but this little thing partnered with a great big God will accomplish His purpose.

God, I dedicate this business to you again. I dedicate this blog for your glory. I am aware of the lostness of this world and sacrifice myself to being a light to shine your glory and love. Not because of anything I can do alone, but through Jesus who truly is the only way. Thank you for your numerous blessings! Thank you for this opportunity to serve you while doing something I absolutely love! Most of all, thank you for sending Jesus, so that through Him, I could be saved. Allow me to live a radical life that continually points towards you. Amen.

Thank you, Internet, for supporting me as well! I couldn’t do this job without such amazing clients and support. I’m excited for the new opportunities being opened to me and for the journey that is just beginning. Let’s get started!

Baby Photographer – Lamar, Missouri

March 29th, 2011

Lyndsey called me last year when she was expecting her first child and signed up for the Baby’s First Year package. From the moment he was born, G did not like having his pictures taken. His newborn shoot took all night and he cried through most of it. I love those times because I get to know the family and I have really gotten to know this family due to G’s lack of camera love. As we started talking, Lyndsey and I realized that we both graduated from Pittsburg State University, we both had Great Danes, and we were both going through graduate school at Missouri State University. This is G’s 1st Birthday session and he did a pretty good job considering he couldn’t even walk in his cowboy boots. I’ve said it before–the best part of my job is getting to know my clients. This is one of my favorite families and I’m so glad that I was able to capture G’s first year of life.
